Empire Online has the excrutiating details, but apparently mediocre popfest Mamma Mia! is coming to a screen near you through mediocre producer Tom Hanks' Playtone.  Let me preface this by saying I am not much for musicals of any sort except for a few big spectacles here and there, but I was dragged by an ex to see Mammia Mia!, and I think he did it as some kind of punishment for scratching the hell out of his back during sex.  Or it might have been tying him up and leaving him in bed (gagged) during a cocktail party.  Come to think of it, there was another time where I made him wear a certain uncomfortable toy when we went to dinner at Florent.  Regardless of why he did it, the punishment of seeing Mamma Mia! did not fit the crime.  It's a painfully insipid and sickly sweet show that managed to ruin some classic pop gems that I barely cared for anyway.  The movie should be blistering your ass sometime in 2007.
