It seems that most recent movie news is about comic book adaptations, and this is largely due to the fact that the San Diego Comic-Con just finished. One of the most interesting bits to come from the Comic-Con has to do with the Spider-Man 3 panel, and from SuperHeroHype's report, it appears that fans were treated very well, being shown some exclusive footage and meeting some unexpected people:
First, they introduced director Sam Raimi and producer Laura Ziskin who were a bit uncertain whether to show some new footage, since a lot of it was unfinished, but the crowd quickly convinced them to do so, and they ran an exclusive extended teaser. [...]
The footage ended with Topher's Eddie Brock feeling something black and gooey hit his hand--obviously the symbiote--and it cuts to the very first image of the computerized Venom, who looks exactly like he does in the comic book if rendered in 3D, looking straight into the camera with his jaws wide open and drooling. If you're a fan of Venom, you're not likely to be disappointed. [...]
Director Sam Raimi then introduced the entire cast of the movie, who showed up in San Diego unannounced in the program.
The teaser trailer for Spider-Man 3 is very impressive, and it looks like the film will be raising the action level even higher. In the hands of director Sam Raimi, and the reuniting of all the original cast members, I think Spider-Man can become the best (and probably most successful) superhero film franchise of all time.
The Spider-Man 3 movie website has also recently added two new wallpapers for your downloading enjoyment:

After some internet research, the best images of Venom that I could find, as shown during the Comic-Con panel, are:

I guess this is what Venom must have looked like to those who had been drinking too much before going to the Spider-Man 3 panel.
