'V' is for <INSERT DESCRIPTIVE WORD STARTING WITH V HERE> at Box Office

The movie going public is a tricky beast to understand.  A couple of weeks ago Tyler Perry's weird drag queen movie was number one and raking in the bucks.  Last week it was the Sarah Jessica Parker romcom about a 36 year old man who still lives with his parents.  And now we have an R-rated political science-fiction potboiler.  At least with V for Vendetta, I can understand how it would rake in the $26.1 mill it needed to lay claim to the number one spot this week.  The movie is really exciting, emotional and patriotic.  My review will be forthcoming once I get through Alan Moore's graphic novel.  Failure to Entertain was in second place with week with $15.1 mil, and rounding out the top three, The Shaggy Dog managed to fetch $13.6 mil.  Last weeks stellar The Hills Have Eyes made the top five with $8, but it was walloped by that quirky bitch Amanda Bynes in her creepy She's the Man movie which was in fourth place with $11 mil.
