The Illusionist has been doing pretty well for itself, despite Leather Lass' scathing review. We'll see if it hurts the prospects for The Prestige, the "other" Victorian-era magician movie from Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan, rejoining his stars Christian Bale and Michael Caine along with Hugh Jackman (Down, Movie MILF! DOWN!), Scarlett Johansson (Down, fanboys! DOWN!), Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, Piper Perabo, and David Bowie.
The Prestige is being billed as a mysterious story of two magicians, Robert Angier (Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Bale), whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy full of obsession, deceit and jealousy with dangerous and deadly consequences for both them and everyone around them. This unfolded for us last night in a new TV spot if you were watching CBS' Survivor, for example. In case you missed it, the spots are available below:
Quicktime High (634 x 480)
Quicktime Medium (476 x 360)
Quicktime Low (318 x 240)
Windows Media High (318 x 240)
Windows Media Low (174 x 132)
In the meantime, check out this picture of David Bowie in full Tom Skerritt-mode as a dashing brunette!
