The Post Office was Never This Cool

Remember back when in the 80s when the United States Postal Service had boring stamps?  At some point, someone got the bright idea that they could sell a lot more stamps if they made them fun and collectible.  Back on July 20th, they released a sheet of DC superhero stamps.  I've just started receiving letters from people who have been using the stamps, and I must say it does add a little bit of extra BIFF! BAM! POW! to my day.

Just in case you haven't seen them yet, here they are:

You can see a slightly larger view at the USPS site here.

Those rock! But where's Bluntman and Chronic?

The Royal Mail in the UK allows you to create little add-ons to the normal stamps, called Smilers. Me and my mates bought up loads of them before setting off on an all over UK road trip, and put them on postcards. We had pictures pretending we were trapped behind one of those little windows you get on letters, attempting to throw a brick at the queen (who was on the proper stamp part), a message that read THIS IS A BOMB (controversal so soon after 9/11), and the like. Shame the road trip sucked. The postcards were mighty fine, though.
