"The Bionic Woman" Makes a Comeback?

Put this one into the "It Can't Be" file...

Dark Horizons has a blurb about how Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick and Alexander screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis are teaming up to remake The Bionic Woman for NBC.

Now, many of you are probably too young to remember this awesome 70s spinoff from the Six Million Dollar ManLindsay Wagner played Jaime Sommers, tennis pro and hottie girlfriend of Major Steve Austin, who was critically injured in a sky-diving accident with Steve, and after undergoing state-of-the-art bionic enhancement surgery and Lee Majors' aural-stimulation therapy (the "Jaime" song + video montage), she emerged as the world's most powerful school teacher, able to rip phone books in half.  She even had Max, the bionic dog, and she could run super-fast in slow-motion.  So cool.  I even had the Jaime Summers doll as a girl, with roll-up bionic skin.

Anyway, according to DH, the new show will explore the role of professional women in contemporary society and how they juggle their various roles.

What?!?

Let me ask that again...

WHAT?!?!?!?

Van Patten to resume his Bionic Boy role

Remember when he'd kick field goals from like a mile away?  Probably the dumbest use of bionics ever.
