
First time director David Michaels' script about a "science scholar who spends the summer on a strange island that is out-of-step with the real world" was probably original when he first conceived of the idea with co-writer Phil Reeves ("Happy, Texas").
The Other Side must be original since it's attracting a pretty a-list cast (Brittany Murphy, Ryan Gosling, Tim Roth, Giovanni Ribbisi, Jason Lee and Anjelica Huston) but one can't help wonder if the duo have been kicking themselves since Lost premiered on ABC two years ago.
