The news comes courtesy of Bloody Disgusting, and gives some brief information regarding a movie called The Hunt, which has now been acquired by Universal Pictures, and which will be produced by Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and the upcoming The Fountain) and Eric Watson.
More interesting is how the news relates to Slither director James Gunn's next project. The Hunt is described as being a movie about the world's greatest hunter finally going after the world's greatest trophy: the Devil!
According to Bloody Disgusting, James Gunn's next project will be "about the Devil and this is a Universal pic, so who knows, maybe this is it?"
Though Slither has received positive reviews (84% at Rotten Tomatoes), its performance at the box office has been dismal (I think it has collected about $10 million in three weeks of release), and for genre films, it is usually box office figures rather than quality that determine a director's career.
