"Scar" Coming at You in 3D/HD

According to Production Weekly, Angela Bettis will be starring in Scar, a 3D/HD thriller from director Jed Weintraub.

The script, written by Zack Ford, centers on Bettis' character Joan Burrows, returning home for her niece's high school graduation.  Upon her return, she is forced to confront a nightmare from her past... as a teen, Joan and her best friend were kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer.  Although Joan escaped, it seems as if the killer has returned from the dead to pick up where he left off.

Pretty heavy subject for a round of Guess the Pitch, but hey... if I were to play, I'd say it's a cross between Nightmare on Elm Street and Mystic River.

Apparently the month-long shoot will begin in Calgary in early October.  We haven't had a good 3D horror flick in a long time!  And Bettis, the "First Lady of Freak" with roles in Carrie, The Toobox Murders, May, etc.,  is just the girl to star in this thing.

angela is pretty cool...

she actually lives by me... i met her a while back at a friends party and talked to her for most of the time i was there... a little trivia... she told me that the voice she used in Sick Girl was the voice that she uses when she talks cutesy to animals.... the director heard her do it and told her to use it for the episode...

Good 3d Horror

I'd have to go with the original 13 Ghosts or Creature From the Black Lagoon. I worked at a drive-in for awhile in the late 80s and we would show whatever old horror films I could find on late Saturdays. Always had a packed house.

I did enjoy putting on Evil Dead 2, Gremlins 2, and Ghostbusters 2 on the same night once.

Now it's a flea market. Go figure.
