Rosario Dawson Kicks "Occult" Ass for Dimension

According to Variety, modern horror schlock-meisters Dimension Films have acquired the rights to Rosario Dawson's O.C.T. Occult Crime Taskforce comic series, which she launched with Image Comics this summer.

Dawson will produce and star in the film, as she sort of does in the comic, where the protagonist, NYPD detective Sophia Ortiz, is supposed to be a comic-version of Dawson.  Ortiz is eventually enlisted by an elite taskforce that hunts down ghoulies using mystical weaponry and other defenses against the dark arts.

Hmm... Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

Sort of a "Hellgirl," only without the horns, crossed with some X-Files and Night Stalker for good measure, I suppose.
