Good news for fans of Fox suspense drama Prison Break. Fox has picked up the show for a second season, which is great because the end of this season apparently culminates in the actual prison break. The second season will focus on the escaped cons' adventures throughout the country. Creator/Executive Producer Paul Scheuring compares next season to the last half of The Great Escape. As dumb as this show is, I can not get enough of it. Yes, yes, yes, the premise is stupid, but inspired stupid. Besides, like Fox's other juggernaught 24, Prison Break is really good at turning the screws on its audience. And for a suspense junky like me, that is a really good thing. The Hollywood Reporter has the details and a mild spoiler for next season if you are paying attention.
If you aren't watching the show, watch or there will be consequences. Not only is the show handle suspense better than most, but the cast on this is really quite brilliant. From the smoldering hot intensity of Wentworth Miller to the doggedness of Robin Tunney, the cast seems to hand some of the preposterous things thrown at them with incredible dignity.
