Fox is crashing out of Summer doldrums thankfully early. Starting August 21st, Fox will begin airing the second season of freshman hit Prison Break, and I must admit I am pretty excited about this. Last year was a pleasant little booby trap of a season. Admittedly the show is preposterous, but still wicked fun. The most interesting thing about the show is that even though it only takes place over the course of a few weeks, it had incredibly rich continuity. Frankly, this show is one of the few times I have to pay attention during those "Last Time on..." prologues.
The show ended it's first season with the prisoners finally outside the walls, and of course in a cliffhanging moment where the plane they were supposed to board flies away without them and they are left to fend for themselves in the wilds of Illinois. Producers have said in the past that they have a master plan for the show and that the second season would not be anything like the first. With that in mind, if the prisoners end up back in prison early in the season, I am going to flog every one of those lying weasels.
