No Hope for More "Serenity"

Joss Whedon's television series Firefly may not have lasted very long, but his fans were supportive enough that it was nevertheless made into a film called Serenity. Of course, Whedon first drew his fanatical followers, and bolstered Flixen Sarah Michelle Gellar's career with the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Whedon fans have been buying many copies of the Serenity DVD as well as voicing their keenness for sequels to the film. Sadly, according to Slashfilm, via Dark Horizons, their efforts will not bear fruit.

Whedon says:

There's no sequel, no secret project regarding Serenity or somesuch and I'm not even sure how anyone thought there was talk there. So let's put that to bed and smother it with a pillow.

This news, albeit sad for Whedon fans, should be understandable as Serenity has not yet recovered its budget. While waiting for the planned Wonder Woman film, Whedon fans will have to read Astonishing X-Men for a Whedon-fix, or another comic that Samantha talked about HERE.

Why

Wonder Women why couldn't he have written and directed the third X-Men. I really want to see what he could do with them in a movie format. He's even stated he's having trouble with the Wonder Women script. Ahh well he does seem to like empowered women charecters so this is an ok fit.
