MGM to "Hobbit" Geeks: Chill

Okay so just a couple of weeks ago, TheOneRing.net sent an open letter to MGM and New Line, along with a petition of 39,116 signatures, imploring them to make the feature film adaptation of The Hobbit, helmed by Peter Jackson and crew, a reality.

And MGM responded very politely, basically saying "chill out, we're trying..."

What I find amusing about the whole thing is that the letter to the studio just goes ON and ON, in that strange "fanboy" language I like to call "Geek Speak."  You know the kind... some of you may even be well-versed in it yourself.  It lends itself to opening statements like "Greetings and Salutations!" and contains flowery language exalting the joys of trolls, wizards, and magic, at the same time showering praise upon anyone even REMOTELY considered sympathetic towards their cause.

This is a very different language than the one spoken by studios, which of course is the language of "money."  This is a much shorter and concise language that gets the message across in about 1/5 of the time compared to "Geek Speak."
