I really liked the opening scene of the first episode of the new season. The first 3 episodes just seem to have added more questions without providing any more answers and I just hope the producers don't tip the balance too much in favour of keeping the audience guessing, because while people don't mind being kept in the dark for a while, if they do it for too long, folks will just lose interest.

Maybe they should speak to Chris Carter...

I think for me it was the contrast between the brilliant opening and a mediocre remainder that truly ruined the first episode. Also, I am not too fond of Jack.

I think the only conspiracy here is the goverment making a show that has horribly noncommunicative characters who run around like their pants were on fire just so they can test to see how long people will watch.

And what is up with Kate?  She used to kick a lot of ass, but now every time you turn around they have a gun pointed at her side.

And yes I still watch.

What the hell was Sayid thinking, hiding in a tree leaving Sun in the boat?! That was one of the stupidest choices made on that show, and there have been some seriously stupid choices.  I mean, what is more attractive bait: A fire, or a yacht? Jesus.  I hate this show so much, I wish I could stop watching it, but I can't because I love it... Oooh the pain.

That WAS painful, especially since Sayid had some of the best lines in the entire run of LOST.

Sayid: I suspect that when they see the smoke, they'll send a scout party to investigate. By then it will be night. When they arrive, I'll ambush them. I'll take two of them hostage, and I'll kill the rest.

Sun: Two?

Sayid: One to make the other cooperate.

And of course, they go hide in trees and things take a turn for the worse.

i was disappointed with the sawyer in the first episode when he made a break for it... he stopped running!!! why??? idiot... he didnt even run very far...and knowing that he was surrounded by others. he did make up for it in the 2nd episode, but then kate let me down. she just stood around while sawyer was fighting. is she pregnant or something thats keeping her from physical stuff? it seems like shes had the easist time so far. i was happy about jack... but then he broke down like puss... he's smart... why hasnt he bothered to ask the right questions?? then sayid let me down too.. jenny already pointed it out... but he knew that the others had boats... why would he think that they wouldnt use that?

i am glad that Sun isnt having a magical jesus baby now... about time they revealed what we all assumed. she was actually the only one that i was proud of... as far as fighting back... and i think sayid interrupted her revealing it to Jin too. of course, that would have been a pretty bad time to reveal it.

Did I miss something? I didn't get what he was referring to when he was looking at Desmond throwing stones. Is that something we were supposed to see and smile slyly, thinking "a ha"? 'Cos like... I didn't get it.

When Hurley first encountered Desmond, Des made a comment about Locke's saying that he was going to go help Jack, Sawyer, and Kate.  But Locke didn't actually say this until the end of the episode, when Desmond was off on the beach not listening to Locke's speech, but just throwing rocks in the water.

Weeeeeiiiiirrrrrrd.

Hallucinations, the ever-androgynous Boone, some of the best cinematography of the entire series, polar bear, Eko, Locke, Jesus Desmond, what more can someone ask for?

... they made it seem like charlie was going to die though... or maybe i misinterpreted the whole locke backstory... or maybe misinterpretation was the whole point of the backstory... they also werent clear if eko died... did he??? was i not paying enough attention last night???

... if you stabbed him through the heart with a lightning rod that was being struck by lightning at that very moment.

I hope they do a polar bear flashback some time...

but I thought I read somewhere that they wanted to do an episode from Vincent the dog's point of view, complete with flashbacks, but decided against it.

That would definitely be a "jump the shark" moment.

I really think that could make for a interesting episode. Could probably even shed some more light on whatever supposedly makes Walt special. When was the last time Vincent appeared in an episode anyway?

last week, he was telling kate that he could take any one of those guards. this week benjamin comes in and kicks his ass. where did he go to prison at?? Wussville Pen?? that electrocution idea was one of the worst escape plans ever.

was it just me or did anyone else think that island looked really fake?

has jack opened a division between juliet and ben?

do all the Lost actors get paid the same or are they paid out by screentime?? i'm sure dominic monaghan could be doing something else right now.

Here we are, what, 5, 6 episodes in and it seems like we've gone nowhere.

last weeks episode with the rest of the cast did nothing but give 'the others' another reason to need jack. ... i could have skipped that whole episode... however, the other 3 episodes did inch along fine for me with the subtle plot points...

What was up with that locke backstory? it made no sense to the story. if it did, someone explain it to me. what was even the point of him working on a pot farm?

...that when they showed the preview for the next episode they said "next week, on the season finale of Lost!"

It's going to be a looooooong wait for the Lost 3.2...

that theyve brought back the polar bears and squishy black cloud... maybe they'll get around to explaining them. juliet reminds me of someone... i cant think if its just from another show or someone i know... and its been bugging me for a few weeks now.

wouldn't it be great, if the plan for the others was to trick jack into thinking that there was a rift between ben and juliet??

I can't believe they're actually touting a 13-week hiatus as a GOOD thing... "In February 2007... 16 weeks, 16 episodes..."

FEBRUARY?!?!?

And there's no way that replacement show is going to fly. I predict it's cancelled within 4 episodes.
