We haven't heard much since July about The Other Boleyn Girl, the period piece about the Boleyn sisters, Anne and Mary, and how they both try to woo King Henry VIII to achieve their place by his side on the throne. Back in July, it was reported that Scarlett Johansson would be playing Mary, with Natalie Portman playing the ill-fated Anne, who loses her head to the executioner's axe. Henry is being played by Eric Bana.
As an aside, I can say that the casting is all wrong. No King Henry, if he was as lustful as they say he was, would choose the flat-as-a-board Portman over Johansson, the Patron Saint of Perfect Breasts.
But I digress... Now it has been reported by Production Weekly that Kristin Scott Thomas, who bored us to tears in The English Patient, will be playing the role of the girls' mother, Lady Elizabeth. The production begins filming next week in Lacock Abbey. No, I won't touch that one... the joke pretty much writes itself.
Instead, I'll just put up that picture of Scarlett again that the boys love so much. That's right...who's yer mama?
