Green Lantern Movement?

Over at Dark Horizons I found this little blip from screenwriter Simon Kinberg about a new comic book film based on the Green Lantern.  Kinberg says, "I know Warner Brothers is actively developing the feature. I think they're even talking about developing a trilogy. I would imagine their approach will be very grounded in reality, as that seems to be the tone they've used for other recent DC films."  Okay now Green Lantern is nuts.  You could do sooooo much with the source material.  I mean the guy can do like anything with that ring of his.  Plus you have all kinds of zany aliens like Killowatt and, um, others.  I guess the reason I am more excited today than I was yesterday is because the last time I remember hear anything about this movie it was going to be like a comedy or something with that weirdo Jack Black.  So unless his brain was going to be transplanted into like Brad Pitt or Jeremy Padelecki, then why would anyone want to see this?  I totally don't get that.  But this new development means that maybe Warners is taking it a more serious-like.  See y'all.
