Look, I'm not the biggest fan of Jim Carrey. I mean, I used to be. When I was a kid, he was the greatest thing ever. I don't know why but now when I see him, I immediately roll my eyes. That being said, Bruce Almighty was probably the only decent thing he's done since Dumb and Dumber.
Now, Dark Horizons is reporting that the sequel to Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty has begun filming.
This has me excited for TWO reasons.
One: The premise of Bruce Almighty was solid. It was just ruined for me by Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston (I can't believe that she got all this work, just because she had cool hair for that one year).
Two: Steve Carrel is the funniest man in Hollywood right now. Now that Arrested Development has been cancelled, The Office is - officially - the funniest show on network television, and Carrel single handedly STOLE Anchorman right out from underneath Will Ferrell.
So, this movie will either be a spectacular success, or a huge failure resulting in another fall from grace for another one of Hollywood's hot-right-now funnymen.
