Dukes of Hazzard 2 - Yeeeeeehaw!

Empire Magazine is reporting that a sequel to The Dukes of Hazzard is coming straight to DVD.

Now, i'm sure a lot of people are groaning at the idea, but not me.  I actually enjoyed the movie.  Yeah, you can think less of me, i don't care.  I started watching the re-runs of the original show on TNN (we get that channel in Canada) and i thought the movie captured the innocence and stupidity of the TV show nicely.

So, yes... This is a direct to DVD sequel of a movie that no-one really liked.

And yes, it also will have none of the original cast since it takes place BEFORE the first movie... It's going to tell the origins of the Dukes.  Yes...

It's a Dukes of Hazzard Prequel.

So, YES, it will probably suck... But I'll still love it.

You know, sometimes it's ok to like a crappy movie, as long as you accept the fact that it's not trying to be anything more than an hour and a half of fun.

I agree with you 100%.I really liked the new dukes movie and the car chases and the driving stunts were super!!! I liked all the actors as they were very entertaining to watch and I liked the comedy that was in the movie also.I believe people took this movie to seriously and was planning to watch another reunion movie in their mind.If you went into the theater like you had never seen the dukes of hazzard before there would have been alot less critics comparing it to the TV show.I am a huge fan of the show and it was just as corny and fun as the movie was.I really don't know what people expected!!! The movie never got boring or slowed down long enough to go to the bathroom.I never left my seat the three times I watched it at the theater.Honestly if there is an orange 69 charger with an 01 on the doors and a confederate flag on the top getting chased by the cops I am going to be interested no matter what.I actually have a 68/69 charger general lee clone.People absoultely surround the car anytime I go somewhere and park it.I will be buying the DVD movie as soon as it hits the stands no matter if its good or bad I will still be curious.Just think the critics hated the TV show also but it was around for nearly 7 years and sold millions of dollars of merchandise and is still selling merchandise as we speak.
