According to Hollywood Reporter:
Intermedia has optioned Adam Alleca's sci-fi action-thriller spec "The Drowning Man." Based on Hideshi Hino's manga "Living Corpse," the story centers on a man who wakes up without a pulse and soon discovers that he is at the center of a macabre government experiment.
Alleca has Wes Craven's Home on his resume (as writer), whereas Hideshi Hino, mostly known for manga it seems, directed the Guinea Pig trilogy (which are entitled Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment, Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood , and Guinea Pig: Mermaid in the Manhole).
Maybe this zombies-due-to-government-experiments movie will be different than previous attempts.
Can the world have too many government zombie movies?
The Japanese word for Guinea Pig is ginipiggu.
