So one of those Gods-Among-Men passed on this past Friday. Aaron Spelling was 83 years old and died of a stroke. Man this totally stinks. There is, like, so little of his stuff I saw in first one, but my childhood was divided between two things, sneaking reading as many comics as I could get my hands on, and watching reruns of awesome shows like Charlie's Angels, Dynasty and 90210. For all those shows silliness and tawdriness and stuff, he always managed to produce some really entertaining shows. I remember how disturbed I was when Alexis Carrington fired off that gun and Crystal's horse knocked her off and started dragging her around, and omg Crystal was pregnant! I mean, you just don't see that kind of drama anymore unless it's on Telemundo and then I can't understand it. I don't need to list his achievements. I mean you can see those at any number of websites, but losing Mr. Spelling is like losing a whole branch of the government... like if the goverment was TV and Spelling was Congress or something. Man I know I can think of a better metaphor, but I am too emotional right now.
