'Click' Takes BO Pot and zzzzzzzz...

So could you tell how much the girls of Flixens were excited about seeing Adam Sandler's new comedy, Click?  Well perhaps you should peruse Zahra's review to see how much she feels like Sandler has really grown as an actor.  Or check out Sam's review where she goes nuts over Sandler's hunky calves.  What about Jenny's review where she precisely breaks down exactly what sets Sandler apart as a comedian and all the things he's done to elevate comedy as an artform.  What?  You can't find them?

Oh they don't exist.  I know Sandler's movies aren't supposed to be high art.  I honestly get that.  And I will gladly admit that I have chuckled through the sublime stupidity of The Waterboy and Happy Gilmore, but his movies just seem to be more and more stagnant.  I was immediately turned off  by this movie during the preview where Sandler non-cleverly turns himself green and acts like the Hulk.  Oy.

Well our disdain notwithstanding, Click managed to strike gold (or perhaps bronze?) at the Box Office this weekend raking in $40 million smackers.  And even though that's a solid debut, it's only fourth place for Sandler vehicles.

Cars crossed the finish line in second place this week, with somewhere in the neighborhood of $22mil, which is kind of amazing because the movie only had a 33% drop from last week.

Surprising many, Tyrese's Waist Deep opened on only 1000 screens, but managed to still make $9mil.

Overall it was a rather uneventful week at the BO, but things should start heating up this week with Superman Returns returning to theaters.
