'Brooks' Hurt Costner. 'Brooks' Angry.

I would like to issue a hearty thanks to David Cronenberg for casting William Hurt in History of Violence.  Hurt was absolutely brilliant in his smallish role and it served as a reminder that Hurt is not only one of the most talented actors on the screen, but he has a presence that practically blasts away anyone on screen with him.  Sure, it's not like Hurt has been lacking work, but it seems Violence has brought him somewhat of a juicy part Renaissance.  He's just wrapped The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon, and now he's set to star opposite Kevin Costner in the psychological drama Mr. Brooks.  This movie sounds like it has everything a tender young dominatrix would need in her life.  Costner plays a tortured man trying to remain on the straight and narrow.  Hurt would play Costner's alter ego who is apparently a psychotic and vengeful murderer.  This sounds brilliant.  Especially after Costner pulled that incredible performance out of his nethers in The Upside of Anger last year.  Find out all the juicy details at Hollywood Reporter.

Keeping with the Jekyll and Hyde theme of Mr. Brooks, Flixens proudly brings you a weird graphic that highlights how perfect the casting is on this movie.  Enjoy!
