Beckinsale tosses Tiara into the Ring for 'Wonder' Role

TeenHollywood.com has Kate Beckinsale (whose name I always thought was Beckinsdale) expressing interest in playing Wonder Woman in the big screen adaptation of the comic which will hopefully open up this weekend because I really can't wait another million years to see this.  Joss Whedon is still working on a script for the movie apparently, and I think he's also attached to direct.  I really don't know if that's going to remain though.  His last film Serenity was a total bomb, and his last TV show Firefly was a total bomb.  His greatest success is the recent Astonishing X-Men for Marvel comics, which is okay, but kind of over-rated.  But I will always have a softspot in my heart of hearts for Buffy, and I kind of think that is Whedon brings that level of fun and excitement to Wonder Woman then I will be first in line with bells on and stuff!  I could wear a mum!

I only hope he doesn't go the route of changing the character all up.  Wonder Woman has stood the test of time since he was introduced way back in 1941.  She works as a character because she is tough, just and above all, incredibly compassionate.  I already read someplace that Whedon was going to be making up a villain for Wonder Woman to square off against, which makes me worry that he doesn't really appreciate the material!  Don't blow it, Whedon!  Of course his next film has nothing to do with Wonder Woman.  He's writing and directing the teen horror comedy Goners.

And as for Ms. Beckins(d)ale?  I think she might be just right for the part.  I haven't seen her in thise Underworld movies, but I've seen her in other stuff like Pearl Harbor and Serendipity.  I mean she looks like Diana, so that's a start.  So I am going to be totally optimistic about this until she eventually says something dumb about the character that will turn me against her.  Below is a picture of Beckinsale so that all the fanboy slathering can begin.

SEE Y'ALL!
