A teaser trailer for animated-film director Michel Ocelot's (Kirikou) latest project, Azur and Asmar, has recently been posted on the internet, and it is quite breathtaking! The news comes to us via Twitch, and the source is allocine.fr.
The link to the trailer, right-click to download here.
You can also find a photo gallery, which features more of the rich designs from the film, at allocine.
About the film, from IMDB (and they also have links to other images):
Azur is a blond boy with blue eyes, Asmar has dark hair and dark eyes. As kids, they fought and loved each other as brothers do. As grown ups, they mercilessly become rivals in the quest for the djinn's fairy, in a medieval Maghreb, full of dangers, magic spells and wonders.
There is no dialogue in the French-language trailer, except the narration done by Kirikou himself!
Here's my translation:
Hello, it's me, Kirikou. I'm here to introduce my new friends, Azur and Asmar: the heroes of Michel Ocelot's next film. It's much bigger than me.
Let's head to the discovery of extraordinary wishes!
Filled with magic spells, danger, and wonders, you will remember Azur and Asmar.
Prepare to join them in a formidable adventure.
Azur and Asmar opens in France on October 25 of this year, and I can't find any release date information for the US yet.
