Okay, okay okay.  Smallville returns tomorrow night, and I totally wanted to remind you to check. it. out.  Last season was one of the best so far.  Clark has been inching ever more forward toward becoming Superman, and the tail end of the season featured a whopper of a cliffhanger.  If you haven't ever watched the show, then you should really check out the season opener.  Smallville always manages to provide an exciting start to a season.  So here are 5 reasons to check it out!  Oh and there are major spoilers... so chill out or read somethin' else.

First, the big cliffhanger?  Well Brainiac was on all last season trying to bring back a big Superman villain.  That villain is ZOD.  Brainiac gave Clark the chance to free Zod, but he totally refused right?  So Brainiac did the next best thing.  He, um, modified Lex and in the season finale, Zod took control of Lex's body, but without Lex's wimpy tendency to pass out all the time.  Zex/Lod even has all kinds of crazy Superman powers.  So yeah Lex is Zod, big deal.  Well then he totally trapped Clark in the Phantom Zone!  NOOOOOO!

2.  Jimmy f-in' Olsen is joining the cast this season, and he's played by Aaron Ashmore (ICE MAN'S BRO!), and he looks as cute as a button and wears a sweater vest and everything.

C.  As I reported here, this season we are going to see ANOTHER DC super hero join the ranks of Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman.  Green Arrow is coming to Smallville for like a whole bunch of episodes.  So far the Super Hero Guest Star episodes of Smallville have been a blast, but it was kind of a bummer because they all shared the same fashion sense as Clark..  Like Aquaman was wearing orange shirt and green shorts.  Stuff like that.  Well screw that!  Green Arrow is coming in full regalia and it even looks goldarn great!.

IV.  Which leads us to news that in January there is going to be an episode called "Justice"!  And word on the street is that we are going to totally get owned by Smallville's first supergroup!

AND FINALLY... just look at this guy.  He's really fun to watch, and he might even take his shirt off sometime.
