I got a big kick out of Danny Boyle's bio-hazard zombie flick 28 Days Later. Getting to see Cillian's Murphy was nice (hehe) but the scenes where he was was wandering along the streets of London with those HUGE pullback shots where there was NOTHING moving was just very very cool. I really dug that whole "awakening" scene where he tries to get his bearings on what must have happened while he was unconscious.
I'm mixed on the sequel, 28 Weeks Later. When I found out Boyle wasn't directing but only producing, I thought "meh." Especially since I've never heard of director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and this is only Rowan Joffe's third script. But I'm trying to not be so negative these days (thank GOD school starts again soon), so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
From IMDB: "The film starts six months after the Rage virus has spread throughout the city of London. The United States Army has restored order and is repopulating the quarantined city, when a carrier of the Rage virus enters London and unknowingly re-ignites the spread of the deadly infection, wreaking havoc on the entire population."
Aw, who are we kidding? They're just phoning that one in.
Anyway, Variety is reporting that they've cast Jeremy Renner, who played the creepy title role in Jeffrey Dahmer, has been cast in the lead role. Other than that... I got nothing. Other than a Dahmer joke: What did Jeffrey Dahmer's mother do when he asked her "what's for dinner?" She gave him the cold shoulder. Nyuk nyuk!
